Objectives

  1. Standardize entries at all locations in the Mississippi Soybean Variety Trials

Significant Accomplishments

The Soybean Variety Trials were planted at six locations utilizing Group IV early and late, Group V early and late, and Group VI maturity groups. A total of 116 varieties were tested in 1997. Thirty five MG IVs, 58 MG Vs and 23 MG VIs. In addition to the conventional test, three Roundup Ready tests were conducted at Stoneville, Clarksdale and Mississippi State University with a total of 85 Roundup Ready lines representing MG IV-V.
